Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. July 03, 2009 at Christ United Church of Christ (200 S. Third St.) in Dupo, IL., with Rev. Kim Kelly, officiating.
Interment: July 03, 2009 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.

Louis was preceded in death by his father: Erwin Dyroff. He is survived by his mother: Pauline Dyroff of Dupo, IL., his brothers: David (Jo) Dyroff of Ladue, Missouri. & Terry (Pat) Dyroff of Silver Springs, Maryland, he is also survived by four nieces, four nephews, 8 grandnieces & grandnephews, other relatives & friends.

Louie graduated from Dupo Community High School as president of his senior class. After earning a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University, he went on to teach U.S. history and civics at East Peoria Community High School starting in 1966. He retired in 1993 and later returned to Dupo.

Louie was an accomplished singer and performed at many church, school, and civic functions throughout his life. In retirement, he was an active member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo. He sang in the church choir and at many weddings and funerals.

His love of travel took him to every country in North, Central, and South America as well as others in the Caribbean, Europe and the South Pacific. He visited all 50 states and occasionally worked as a tour guide with is brother Terry during the summers. He was an active volunteer with several civic organizations including the Lions Club, Meals on Wheels, and the Dupo Educators' Hall of Fame. He will be remembered by his friends and family as someone who never spoke an unkind word and whose presence always brightened the day.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo or to a charity of your choice.
