Salome was preceded in death by her husband: Alvin, who passed away in 1984, her parents: Henry & Louisa, nee Bohley, Nollmann, her brothers: Bert, Oscar, & Roland Nollmann, and her sister: Hilda Patrick.
She is survived by her sons: Les (Kay) Mehrtens and Earl (Sandy) Mehrtens, her grandchildren: Kris (Tom) Hoppenjans, Bryan (Lori) Mehrtens, Tim (Linda) Mehrtens, and Michele Mehrtens, her great grandchildren: Brady & Mary Mehrtens, her sister: Ophelia Germann, she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Salome was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, Zion Women's Fellowship, Zionettes Kitchen Band and St. Clair County Farm Bureau. Her love of gardening, canning, and preparing meals was her greatest joy. She loved teaching her granddaughters the art of cookie making.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
