She was preceded in death by her husband: Alvin Riebeling, who died in 1980 and whom she married January 18, 1934, her parents: Frederick & Wilhelmina, nee Wernicke, Schlemmer, her friend & companion: Valentine Tattitch, her 5 brothers: William Schlemmer, Armin, Frederick, Sylvester & Adolph Schlemmer and her 3 sisters: Anna Hoffmann, Alma Hasty-Roseman and Edna Kuni-Wagner.
She is survived by her son: Orval (Mary Lou) Riebeling, her two daughters: Evelyn (Larry) Lindhorst & Beverly Bivins, her ex son-in-law: Norman Bivins, her 4 grandchildren: Randy (Tonda) Lindhorst, Debra (Kenny) Nash, Travis (Christina) Bivins & Darius (Michelle) Bivins, her 5 great grandchildren: Tiffany Bivins, Anthony Bivins, Logan Herring, Andrew Bivins, & Cody Bivins, she is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bertha was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL., former member of the Dupo Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 485 Ladies Auxiliary. For many years, she and her husband owned the following businesses in Dupo: The Riebeling Service Station, Riebeling Variety Store & Dupo Dairyland.
